Composing with Digital Images, Re-Seeing the World
Directions:
Building on Group 4’s presentation of Hicks’ Ch. 4 in Class 8, use your imagination, be creative, and find an everyday object that looks like a letter of the alphabet and another one that looks like a number (in other words, your objects should not actually be a letter or number, but you're using your imagination to find objects that look like a letter and a number). Take digital pictures of the objects and then upload them into the wiki using the File button and then post it on a wiki page you create below. If you're feeling particularly creative, include one additional digital photo that is symbolic of a particular theme of importance to you!
Another option is to upload your photos into a photo sharing site and then provide a link or embed them on your wiki page below. If needed, go to the Digital Writing Workshop section of our wiki and review Group 4's presentation for some of the links to photosharing sites that are discussed in Hick's Ch. 4. Use Dr. Young's example below as a model for formatting your own page. If you have trouble posting 2 photos on the same page, you can create two links on your page -- one to a page for your letter and one to a page for your number. You can also provide links images on your Flickr account or another photo-sharing site if you use one.
